BYHEALTH focusing on NPD for women’s health to fulfil demand in China – Growth Asia Summit

Dietary supplement giant BYHEALTH is channelling efforts to developing and launching products to meet the evolving needs of Chinese female consumers, which constitute a major portion of vitamin and dietary supplement (VDS) users in the country.

Based on consumer demand and data analysis, the firm has pinpointed six key nutritional supplement categories for its markets, namely gut microbiome, precise nutrition, brain health, homeostasis, cardiovascular, and anti-ageing.

Broader horizons: China’s EastRoc on shift from energy drink specialisation to multi-beverage portfolio

EastRoc is the only domestic beverage-focused company in China that is valued at over CNY100tn (US$14bn), and for a large part of its existence the firm has been focused on only energy drinks.

However, EastRoc is now making a major change to its business development strategy based on local beverage industry trends in recent years, believing that its one-product model is not the best way forward.

China’s dual carbon goals include reaching its carbon emissions peak before 2030 and becoming ‘carbon neutral’ before 2060. To achieve these, the government is looking to change food consumption patterns, including reduced meat consumption.

A twist in the tea: Yili seeks to capture new consumer base with twist-top RTD range

China dairy giant Yili has ventured into the ready-to-drink (RTD) tea segment with an entirely new product concept dubbed the ‘instant brewed tea’ under its INIKIN brand as it looks to capture a new base of local consumers.

“The instant brewed tea concept is reliant on our new twist-cap technology, where we have put tea that was freeze-dried at -40°C into the cap and this will be released when the cap is twisted, dropping the tea into the water bottle,” Yili Shanghai Branch General Manager Baoguang Wang told the floor at the Food and Beverage Innovation Forum (FBIF) 2024.

Singapore’s Jääde brings premium water to China, eyes Middle East market

The brand has begun online sales in China, and looks to expand into other South East Asian markets and the Middle East.

Founded in 2023, Jääde is currently focused on increasing brand awareness and building consumer trust in the local Singapore market, with a long-term goal of becoming a leading brand in the premium water sector.
