As the agtech community prepares to convene in Singapore for the Asia-Pacific Agri-Food Innovation Summit, we’ll be setting the scene by debating the biggest investment and innovation opportunities present across the region. In a region where nutritional inadequacies still prevail in several countries, coupled with food security and sustainability concerns in others, we’ll be joined by high profile guests to discuss how the agtech sector can play a crucial role in improving agri-food outputs. In particular, we’ll debate how to facilitate agtech adoption across hundreds of thousands of smallholder farmers, the emerging financing and funding sources, and how major players across ingredient firms, finished product brands and retailers are helping to harness innovation from the bottom up. We’ll also assess how to balance environmental concerns versus the need to maximise yields, and drill down into the areas ripe for more agtech innovation and investment across the region – notably aquaculture, underutilised indigenous crops, and waste valorisation.
