On day two, we will turn our attention to Active Lifestyle Nutrition and Protein Trends, alongside a dedicated session for Healthier Product Innovation for the mainstream market.

And on day three, we will focus on Healthy Ageing, as well as looking to future innovation opportunities through the prism of Personalisation and Emerging Tech.

Angel Yeast, Morinaga Milk, and Sirio are Diamond Sponsors of the event, along with Kerry, ADM and FrieslandCampina, which we featured yesterday.

Angel Yeast's Chris Chen will discuss 'The science behind Angeopro: Innovating health & food solutions with sustainable yeast protein'
The abstract states: 'The demand for high-quality protein is rapidly increasing worldwide. Despite animal protein being a significant source, it has raised environmental concerns for sustainability, while many plant proteins do not fully meet the demand. Yeast protein has emerged as an innovative alternative. Research has shown that Angeopro boasts a PDCAAS of 1 and functions as a slow-release protein. Studies also highlight its ability to enhance immunity, repair digestive tract mucosa, regulate intestinal flora, improve muscle mass and strength, and lower triglycerides and lowdensity lipoproteins. As an innovative protein, Angeopro finds application in protein bars, protein milkshakes, dairy products, and various highprotein snacks.
Key learning include:
• Background on the development of innovative proteins and the transformative impact of yeast protein in the market.
• Exploration of the nutritional value and health benefits associated with Angeopro.
• Identification of diverse food products suitable for incorporating yeast
protein Angeopro.

Morinaga Milk's Saki Yamashita will present on 'Introducing B-3: A Unique probiotic strain for metabolic health'.

The abstract reads: 'Obesity incidences are rising worldwide, with research highlighting the significant role of gut microbiome in obesity progression. In parallel with the increase in obesity, there is also a rapid increase in the ageing population. It has been suggested that obesity not only increases the onset of metabolic imbalances but also decreases life span and impacts cellular processes like ageing. In our over 50 years of research efforts on humanresidential bifidobacteria (HRB) to people’s wellness, we have discovered Bifidobacterium breve B-3 as a unique probiotic strain that supports metabolic health. B-3 generates an attractive effect in maintaining healthy body weight, ultimately  improving lifestyle and leading to healthy ageing.'
Key learnings will include:
• Highlighting the importance of gut microbiota in human health, especially concerning healthy ageing and obesity.
• Addressing the scientific evidence of B. breve B-3 on body fat reduction and waist circumference.
• Exploring the mechanism of actions of B. breve B-3 for which it promotes lipolysis in the liver, restores intestinal barrier function, and alleviates inflammatory conditions even if the barrier function was
compromised.
• Restating the importance of human-residential bifidobacteria (HRB) and how they support human health.

Sirio Pharma's Danny Gan will discuss 'Promoting Health through Evidence-Based Nutrition and Bio-inspired Technology'

The abstract reads: 'One of the greatest challenges for human nutrition is the bioavailability of different nutrients. Recently, Sirio Pharma has launched the E-Cube bioinspired efficacy technology platform, which focuses on unlocking nutrition digestion and absorption mechanisms, and enhancing bioavailability for better health benefits. The platform skilfully integrates the power of nature and the wisdom of science and technology to: 1) enhance the efficacy through content, bioavailability, and clinical evidence; 2) empower the consumer experience through flavour, taste, and clean label; 3) expand the application to more dosages, more packs and even more combinations. Definitely, this platform will provide more product solutions for our customers and consumers.'

Key learning will include:

  • LifebitesTM emulgel technology optimizes DHA oil distribution, particle size, texture, and enhances bioavailability in humans.
  • Lychee fermentate attenuates AIEC-combined with DSS-induced colitis, enhances intestinal barrier function, and regulates microbiota profile in mice.
  • Consumer oriented innovation is focusing on health benefits, dietary pattern and environment, and improving consumer experience.
