German manufacturer Kühne launched vegetable crisps under its Enjoy brand. The product contains purple & orange sweet potato and parsnip chips. The snack has an oriental flavour thanks to a sweet and spicy spice blend of paprika, cayenne pepper, allspice and ginger. 

Kühne said the snack is all natural - without additives, flavor enhancers and artificial flavors. The veggie crisps are also vegan and gluten free.

Enjoy vegetable crisps are being rolled out at cash and carries, drug stores, supermarkets and hypermarkets throughout Germany. The recommended retail price is €1.99 for a 75 gram bag. 

The launch will by supported by advertising and point of sale marketing support, Kühne added. 

BRAVE pea snacks
BRAVE pea snacks

Sustainable snacking start-up BRAVE its launching its pea snack line in Sainsbury's in the UK.

Two varieties of the product, which is naturally high in protein and fibre, will be available in the supermarket: sea salt and paprika & chilli. The SKUs will retail at £1 per 35g pack.

BRAVE said that it uses British grown peas to produce the snack, which it is positioning as a low-fat alternative to crisps and nuts.

The snack is 100% vegan and made with all-natural ingredeints.

Additionally, the group is rolling out a new product, sea salt and vinegar roasted peas, to Ocado, Planet Organic, As Nature Intended and other independent retailers.

Materne wants to revitalise its fruit compote snack offering with the introduction of a new range in France that is free from added sugar, organic and contains "superfruits".

The products, which achieve an A Nitriscore rating, offer consumers "gluttony and healthy pleasure", the company said.

Materne organic varieties include: apple, strawberry and blueberry; apple peach and cranberry; apple, banana and coconut; and apple, mango and pomegranate.

SchapfenMühle is launching four varieties of porridge under its Dinkel brand in Germany.

The company said the innovation "combines three trends - spelled, porridge and superfood". 

The four types of spelled porridge are: natural, cranberry coconut, orange ginger and aronia sour cherry. SchapfenMühle said that the four varieties "offer a suitable variant for every taste".

The spelled porridge is combined with 150 ml of boiling water and can be eaten after 4-5 minutes. The porridge comes in single portion packs, making it "easy to prepare the spelled porridge quickly and easily anywhere, whether at home, at school or in the office". 

Spelled Porridge is suitable as a breakfast or snack, the manufacturer suggested. The products are sweetened with fructose.

Each variety has a different suggested retail price: natural's RRP is €1.99, cranberry coconut's RRP is €2.19, orange ginger's RRP is €2.49, and aronia sour cherry's RRP is €2.99. The porridge is set for a nationwide rollout to hypermarkets, supermarkets and discounters throughout Germany.

Aunt Bessie's said it is targeting a gap in the market with the UK launch of its premium frozen desserts: indulgent treats for larger gatherings.

The company is introducing 'met in the middle' desserts in two varieties: Belgian chocolate chip and salted caramel. The 500g puddings include six servings and have a recommended price of £2.50 to £3.00.

"The melt in the middle desserts represent a new and enticing option for consumers in the category - they meet shoppers' desire for eye-catching treats that can serve the whole family or a full dinner party. By innovating within frozen desserts and offering a stand-out product with a premium feel, we hope to help our retail partners capitalise on the increased opportunity over the coming months," Aunt Bessie's marketing manager Hannah Hass commented.

French meat processor Bigard is rolling out what it claims is the first beef meatball made with certified French meat. The company said that the meatballs were developed as a time-saving product for family meal occasions. Suggesting that standard meatballs are "slow to cook" and often "crumble", Bigard developed a solution: mini meatballs. 

Each mini meatball contains only 5 grams of beef, can be cooked in three minutes, and "mix easily" when cooking. 

The mini meatballs have an RRP of €3.50 a pack.

Iconic Australian biscuit brand Tim Tam, manufactured by Arnott's, is being introduced to Germany by distributor Genuport. 

Announcing the news, Genuport said it is introducing another international product to the German market. The company already distributes a wide range of large global brands, including Campbell's Pepperidge Farm, Snyder's, Mondelez's Cadbury chocolates, Weetabix and Del Monte. 

Tim Tam's "can be enjoyed everywhere, are always on the go and at hand" thanks to their individual packaging, Genuport said. 

Two variants are being launched, chocolate and cappuccino, with a recommended price of €2.99. The biscuits will be distributed to discount, drug, cash and carry, supermarket, hypermarket and convenience retail channels. The move will be supported by tasting, secondary placement displays, tester action, influencer cooperation and social media engagement activity.

PepsiCo is launching limited edition Christmas flavours under its Walkers crisp brand in the UK.

Single pack flavours include Brussels sprout, turkey and stuffing, and pige in a blanket. Each retails at 65p, while a multipack containing two of each flavour - plus two additional varieties, glazed ham and cheese & cranberry - has an RRP of £1.50.

"We know the sprout debate is one that divides the nation, so we wanted to offer product solutions for both sides of the debate and ask people to decide whather they are a #SproutLover or #SproutHater," Walkers marketing manager Andrew Hawkswell said.
