A new "joint venture of equals" has been established in Greater China between Jebsen & Jessen Ingredients (JJING) and Jebsen Industrial Specialty Ingredients & Solutions Business (JI-SI&S).

The joint venture, which will create a pan-Asian chemical and ingredients business, aims to expand the JJING network to Greater China region riding on the expertise on customer sales, regulatory affairs, import-export, supply chain management and network of JI-SI&S.

At the same time, it is hoped JI-SI&S will enjoy a wider platform to gain the exposure across Asia.

Said Heinrich Jessen, Chairman of Jebsen & Jessen (SEA), “The decision to form a joint venture with our sister company is a first in the history of our family enterprise. It is a logical step to take given the deep expertise in specialty ingredients distribution developed by both organisations in different geographies over more than half a century.”

Operating under the name Jebsen & Jessen Ingredients (Hong Kong) Co. Ltd. in HK, and Jebsen Specialty Chemicals Co. Ltd. in Mainland China, the joint venture will be led by Jeff Cui.

Marc Deschamps, regional managing director & CEO of Jebsen & Jessen Ingredients said: “JJING has a very wide and deep focus on the specialty chemicals and consumer related business whilst JI- SI&S has a deep focus on the chemical, food and nutritional business in China. The two entities, whilst different scale in business size and geographic coverage, are very similar in terms of market focus.

"Coming together in a new joint venture of equals, we feel that there are many synergies as there are regional resources to be shared and unique talents on either side which would make us a much stronger force in the market operating as one.”
