Mérieux NutriSciences expands footprint in India

Mérieux NutriSciences has bought Bangalore Testing Laboratories Pvt to strengthen geographical presence and expand services in India.

Bangalore Testing Laboratories, founded in 1987 by Verghese Chacko and employing 130 people, offers testing of drugs and pharmaceuticals, food, chemicals, pesticides and water.

It does chemical and microbiological testing for a range of foods as well as for pesticide and antibiotic residues, vitamins, trace minerals and amino acids.

Depending on the test, turnaround time is three to four days.

The company runs a fully accredited laboratory in Bangalore covering 20,000 sq ft.

Bangalore Testing Laboratories will be transitioned into the Mérieux NutriSciences network, which now operates three accredited laboratories in India.

Verghese Chacko will remain the CEO of the company and all teams will report to him. Verghese will be managed by Vidhya Gangar, managing director India.
