BioGaia to launch ProTectis drops in Vietnam through VietPhap

Vietnamese pharmaceutical company VietPhap International has been given the rights to sell BioGaia’s ProTectis probiotic baby drops in its home market.

VietPhap will begin exclusively marketing BioGaia’s biggest line in the country before launching the product’s vitamin D variant later this year.

Both lines contain the patented probiotic Lactobacillus reuteri Protectis strain and are currently available in 70 countries.

"Asia is a market with great potential and I am pleased that our’ products will be available in yet another country here. With the reputable local partner VietPhap we hope for a successful launch of our paediatric portfolio in Vietnam", said Peter Rothschild, BioGaia’s president.

Vietnam has 90m inhabitants and a low, but rapidly growing, purchasing power per capita. VietPhap is a local pharmaceutical major involved in the licensing, business development, marketing, sales and distribution of a wide range of over-the-counter and prescription products.
