A seminar to introduce the new product is scheduled for 2:30pm on September 3 at the exhibitor presentation theatre at Vitafoods Asia.
At this event, data will be presented on taste and colour compatibility and stability under various conditions. Recommended combinations and product concepts will also be presented.
“Astaxanthin has become increasingly popular in tablet and capsule form, but options for adding astaxanthin’s antioxidant power to functional beverages and powdered sachet products have been limited until now,” said Eric Caston, sales manager with AstaReal and speaker at the seminar.
“Our goal is to present data and concepts that will show manufacturers how the addition of AstaREAL EL25 cold water dispersible astaxanthin can help differentiate their new and existing products.”
AstaReal has produced astaxanthin in its proprietary enclosed photo-bioreactor system in Gustavsberg, Sweden since 1994. In response to growing global demand for high quality natural astaxanthin, AstaReal opened its second production facility in Moses Lake, Washington, USA in May of this year. The facility is began operation in July and will reach full capacity by the end of the year.
“The new facility has twice the production capacity of our existing facility in Sweden and will more than triple our overall production capacity. This will allow us to offer a stable supply of astaxanthin to our customers worldwide and especially in the rapidly growing market here in the Asia-Pacific region,” said Dr Vincent Wood, general manager of AstaReal’s Asia-Pacific-Oceania operation.
