Dohler expands MENA might with Delta Aromatic acquisition

Already a mainstay in the Middle East ingredients market, Dohler has now announced further expansion in the region following its acquisition of the fruit processing and flavour unit of Delta Aromatic in Egypt.

Dohler, a global producer and marketer of technology-based natural ingredients for the food and beverage industry, has been present in the Middle East since it opened a base in Dubai in the late 1970s, and has subsequently experienced significant growth over the years.

Meanwhile, Delta Aromatic is a specialist in fruit and vegetable ingredients and has become a key player in the region since it was established in Cairo 25 years ago.

The existing management of Delta will remain onboard and will lead the newly formed Dohler Egypt.

"Delta Aromatic will play a major role as the production and service hub for the dynamic markets in Africa and the Middle East," said Herbert Eickmeier, Dohler's senior marketing manager.

"Dohler's integrated approach and its broad product portfolio are the optimal basis for innovative and safe food and beverage applications," he added.

The company's product portfolio ranges from flavours, colours, and speciality and performance ingredients, as well as cereal, dairy and fruit and vegetable ingredients and ingredient systems. It manufacturers in excess of 500,000 products with over 4,000 raw materials. And more than 300 R&D staff develop formulations on behalf of its clients.

Dohler Egypt is the first Dohler production site on the African continent.
